A space to belong, grow and be yourself

Youth at Derryvolgie is all about creating safe, welcoming spaces where young people can make friends, have fun, build confidence, and explore life and faith in a supportive environment. Through Derryvolgie Youth (DVY) and programmes run in partnership with Youth Initiatives, there are different ways for young people to get involved throughout the week.

Section 1 – Derryvolgie Youth (DVY)

Derryvolgie Youth (DVY) is our Sunday evening youth space for secondary-school-aged young people.

DVY is relaxed, friendly, and built around relationships – giving young people space to connect, have fun, and talk honestly about life, faith, school, and friendships. Whether someone has been part of church life for years or is just coming along for the first time, they’ll find a warm welcome.

What to expect at DVY

• Games and social time
• Group conversation and discussion
• Short, accessible Bible teaching
• Space to ask questions and be yourself

DVY is led by a caring team who are passionate about creating a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment where young people feel known and supported.

When: Sunday evenings during term time
Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Youth Initiatives

Youth Initiatives partner with Derryvolgie to deliver additional youth programmes throughout the week, creating more opportunities for young people to connect, grow, and feel supported.

Youth Initiatives is a Christian youth organisation focused on helping young people build confidence, develop life skills, and find a strong sense of belonging. Their work centres around positive relationships, encouragement, and walking alongside young people as they navigate life, faith, and the challenges of growing up.

• Youth Club – relaxed weekly sessions focused on friendship, games, and social time
• Girls Club – a supportive environment for young women to build confidence, friendships, and self-esteem

Each programme is designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and engaging – helping young people feel safe, valued, and part of something meaningful.
